Fowey Harbour is 5 Miles From Doubletrees, The Harbour of Fowey is named after the town of the same name, situated on the western side of the mouth of the river Fowey, with Polruan opposite.
For one week each August our usually tranquil little town attracts thousands of visitors who flock here for the Fowey Royal Regatta. Visits from the “world” cruise liners.
Located about a mile outside the town of St Austell is Charlestown, an amazingly pristine, unspoiled example of a late Georgian working port.
To this day the port remains unspoiled and retains much of its Georgian character. This unique combination has lead to Charlestown being a popular location for film and television locations, including Dr Who & Poldark.
